Summary
Pottawatomie County needed a new 250-bed facility within a tight timeframe, and we provided general contracting services for the build. The low-to-maximum-security correctional facility located in Shawnee, Oklahoma has a central master control location along with two satellite control locations within the pods with a clear line of site between them.
The facility is equipped with clean and dirty bull pens, hard holding cells, and a padded cell in the booking area. There are also two separate “soft” rooms for visitation, including video visitation, video arraignment from an off-site judge, and a waiting area for non-violent detainees with a recreation and television area. This new center was also connected via a secure completely enclosed walkway with the existing Juvenile Detention Center.
The central core of the facility houses the master control security monitoring desk, administration areas, medical facilities, vehicle sally ports, full service kitchen and dining hall, and laundry area.
