Summary
This project focused on the interior and exterior renovation of the Langston University I.W. Young auditorium, for which we provided construction management services. During this work the 962-seat auditorium has undergone a massive renovation process.
The interior of the building has undergone a complete renovation that included the installation of new theatrical and house lighting, a ceiling and wall acoustical treatment, a new above-ceiling catwalk system, a new orchestra pit, a new HVAC, renovated plumbing and electrical systems, and new restrooms. A new elevator has also been added to the building, along with new paint and carpet throughout.
Exterior work to the building focused on removing and replacing the existing auditorium windows with brick masonry and cast stone placards. Work was also undertaken to construct new sidewalks, and landscaping work was undertaken to complete the exterior renovation.
