Summary
Immuno-Mycologics, Inc is a new state-of-the-art 40,000 square foot facility that sits on nearly six acres of land. IMMY offers high-quality fungal diagnostics in a clinical lab setting, and as such, this project features a Tissue Culture Lab, LFA Lab, and a Bio-Safety 3 Lab.
IMMY’s work focuses on pathogens, so the Bio-Safety Level 3 Lab was necessary to ensure their correct containment. Level three is the second highest level of containment Lab in existence, and is required to maintain negative air pressure at all times. The Lab contains HEPA filters, sealed windows, and a ventilation system that forces clean air into the lab where infectious agents are handled.
The Bio-Safety Level 3 Lab is serviced by a separate entrance that has highly restricted traffic flow. All wall, ceiling, and floor seams are sealed for effective cleaning and decontamination purposes. Two of the other Lab areas also have specific humidity requirements that had to be factored into the construction.
